Cressida grew up in Central London and gained a B.A. in English Literature from Oxford University, a B.A. in Graphic Design from St Martin's and an M.A. in Narrative Illustration from Brighton. She has written many popular picture books and has also written novels for older children. That Rabbit Belongs to Emily Brown won the Five and Under category of the Nestle Children's Book Prize 2006.

Neal was born in Chichester but now lives in Portsmouth with his family. He has illustrated more than 40 books, working with award winning authors such as Michael Rosen and Roger McGough. Not only does Neal illustrate books, he has also written several picture books and young fiction himself. His book Oscar and Arabella was awarded the Smarties prize in 2002.
