We took an exhilarating walk through the woods with Little Bat Jack and his classmates and met some fantastically illustrated characters on the way. Freddie is a great fan of The Kissed That Missed and immediately recognised the lion which features in both books, he was delighted! We both loved the comical illustrations, they really made us laugh and supported the narrative excellently.
Freddie's favourite characters were the lion, the dragon and the ragamuffins. He eagerly waited to see what forms the shapes in the wood would take and was never disappointed! His favourite part was when Little Bat Jack became a hero and led the way home, he laughed out loud when he spotted the bear cowering behind the tree!
This is a heart warming, action packed story with plenty of surprises, we have re-read it many times!
