I adore this book and im 25, I've never grown too old for this book. Every child deserves to read this book, and its a great way to interact with the kids. It helps them both intellectually and emotionally as well as giving them a social push up as they are spending time with their family as they read. A great book that will never leave us.

When book shopping I couldn't believe I found this, I can vividly remember the fun I used to have when I had this read to me, it brought all the memories back. I bought it for my four month old who loves the bright colours and the book is pretty big so it captures her attention -thanks Redhouse.

I loved this book as a child. My mum still has it. When I had children this was the first book I bought. They love putting their fingers through the holes, and the wonderful illustrations.

After teaching for 25 years and reading this book many times to young children I now have the pleasure reading it to my granddaughter who loves it.

We bought this for our baby daughter for Christmas and she loves it.. especially at the end when her father adopts the voice from "A Bug's Life" to inform her that he was a beautiful butterfly. Easy to turn pages and great for teething gums as she tries to eat all the yummy food mentioned!

This book enchanted me when I was a child so now I read it to my 6 year old and 9 month old boys. They love it as much as I did when I was young, they like the colours. My 6 year old is amazed at the amount of food the caterpillar eats and will sit and laugh at its big fat tummy. They love to sit and listen to the story and beg me for more when the book is finished - how can I resist a great book? I still love the book now - the best book on the market for young children or just big kids like me!!!

A very good book and the catipillar gets very hungry and eats everything. He turns into a butterfly at the end.

It was my favourite book at pre-school, and I didn't get my own copy until I got married. Now I read it to my daughter, who still thinks he turns into a snail at the end because of the cocoon! Superb, everyone should own it!

This book is amazing! My brother's only six, but we still adapt the food the caterpillar eats on Saturday...it ranges from marmite sandwiches to christmas pudding. The amount of interaction you can have over one greedy caterpillar and a 6 year old is amazing! All children should have a copy of this book.

A favourite book as a child and now I love it all over again through the eyes of my children. We have even drawn the foods from the book and our own favourites, add to that our catipillar on lollipop sticks and the book becomes interactive. Brilliant Eric Carle!

Fantastic! An absolute classic. The repetitive language and bright illustrations are perfect for babies and all toddlers. Great for Early Years pupils to reinforce high frequency words. Timeless.

I was just scrolling through the pages of the baby section when I came across this book! I loved it as a kid and I used to read it all the time....I never left the house without it! I, of course would reccomend it to any baby or young child from the age of 1-7!

This was my favourite book when I was small, and I've now bought a copy for my two year old son. He loves it just as much as I did! An excellent book!

I started reading this book to my daughter at bedtime around 4 weeks old. She loves it to bits and smiles at the butterfly when I flap the pages!

What more can be said - a timeless and enchanting classic. Our little boy (18 months) has been having this (and Carle's equally wonderful Brown Bear, Brown Bear) as his bed-time stories for as long as I can remember, and he still gets excited when the butterfly appears! No child should be allowed to not have a copy of this book - can't it be made available on the NHS or something?
