About this book
From the award-winning creator of the Gruffalo, Julia Donaldson, comes another endearing tale that children will love and adults will enjoy reading aloud. Absorbingly illustrated by the exceptionally talented Emily Gravett, Cave Baby sees a cheeky little baby take a ride on the back of a hairy mammoth, who takes him into a dangerous land inhabited by sabre-toothed tigers, laughing hyenas and maybe even a brown bear. But what does this have to do with Cave Baby's scribblings on the wall? A truly riotous read!
Red House Readers say...
"A fabulous book that will be treasured and repeatedly enjoyed"I thoroughly enjoyed this book with fun rhyming text and fanciful imagery. The story and illustrations kept both mummy and Ebony fully entertained. Cave Baby is lonely and bored so decides to decorate his family's cave with colourful patterns and mess, much to Ebony's amusement. Unfortunately, his parents don't appreciate his efforts and are far from pleased, scaring baby with the threat of a mammoth throwing him to the big brown bear. During the night when Cave Baby is snatched away by the mammoth he is worried about the big bear, but the mammoth has much brighter and more colourful plans for Cave Baby and his unusually wild and messy painting talent.
This book is a definite hit with Ebony, she thinks it's hilarious that the baby messes up the tidy cave and the end made her really giggle. I personally love the illustrations: the detail and element of humour in the drawings bring the characters to life. A fabulous book that will be treasured and repeatedly enjoyed. We love this book!
