"Cleverly plotted and exciting"

When Artemis Fowl invites Holly Short and her friends to Iceland, they are prepared for the worst. But this is not another criminal scheme - Artemis wants to stop global warming. It's not long before the Fairies realise that there is something very strange happening inside Artemis's mind; He has developed something called Atlantis Complex, which leaves him paranoid and terrified of the number four, and so when a mysterious space probe begins to wreak havoc on the Underwater city of Atlantis, the others have to do without Artemis's intellect.

Seven books into the series, The Artemis Fowl books are still excellent. Artemis Fowl and the Atlantis Complex is just as funny as its predecessors, making it a nightmare to read in public, and so cleverly plotted and exciting that you'll find yourself racing toward the end. Despite the fast pace and laughs, there are also some surprisingly moving moments, which may make this more enjoyable for older readers, but there's still plenty for everyone is this brilliant instalment of a consistently high-quality series.
