About this book

Meet Angel. She's not fond of people at the best of times, and now she has to deal with Zola, who's moved in to Angel's village in the Swiss Alps. To start with they bicker, but an unexpected friendship begins to form and eventually their magic benefits the whole village. This life-affirming contemporary fable is full of mix-ups, nonsense, wit and charm.

"The Unfinished Angel"

4

Angel lives in a peaceful village in the Swiss Alps. That is until the American and his daughter arrive. Angel doesn't know what her mission is and she has been in the village for a very long time. She has seen all the adults grow up and then their children. She does not know what to do so she watches over everyone. But Zola, the American girl, in her bright clothes is always telling her what to do. Angel wonders why Zola can see her and how she knows so much about angels. Zola's father is building a school in the village and soon it is noisy because of it. It does not help when the neighbour's dog is barking away either. Sometimes Angel has to go up into the mountain to get peace. But when she finds out about the hungry children in the shed she knows she has to do something. In the night she flishes into people's heads so they know about the children. It does not go as planned. She leads the children to her tower where they end up living. Then Angel has an idea that the children will be able to go to the new school. Zola's father is not sure because the mayor is on holiday and he needs permission. When the mayor comes back, he is not happy. Zola and Angel together, with a little help from the children and Signora Divino, try and persuade the mayor to let the school open. But there is one big surprise for everyone!
