About this book
It's Elmer's birthday and all the other elephants are making a big hullabaloo about how they are going to celebrate. In fact, they're making so much noise that the other animals in the jungle are getting upset - until Elmer invites them all to take part in his special parade!
Red House Readers say...
Elmer is a multi-coloured, patchwork elephant that many of us are familiar with. In Elmer's Special Day the wacky coloured elephant becomes a plain grey elephant for his special parade. Meanwhile the jungle becomes a racket of preparations as all his jungle friends transform their appearances by decorating themselves with wild colours and patterns. This whole book is an explosion of colour and patterns with bright, busy illustrations bursting from every page. The story of the animals painting themselves for Elmer's special day is completely mad but wonderful. Ebony thought the idea of a patchwork elephant was very funny and giggled away at the animals decorating themselves. All in all a hit with both myself and Ebony.
