About this book collection

This will arm your newly-confident reader with a shelf full of brilliant laugh-out-loud adventures that will keep even the most voracious of readers quiet for a little while! Rumblewick is a highly qualified witch's cat with a major problem... his own witch doesn't actually want to be a witch. As you can imagine this leads to some major problems. To keep him sane, he spends every spare moment writing his diaries and through his writing you'll see what happens when Haggy Aggy wants to become a supermodel and go to ballet school. Red House Reader Delilah Ferry-Swainson adds: "I like the way Rumblewick writes - he's really funny and lively."

Books in this collection

  • My Unwilling Witch Gets Cooking
  • My Unwilling Witch Sleeps Over
  • My Unwilling Witch Gets a Makeover
  • My Unwilling Witch Starts a Girlband
  • My Unwilling Witch Flies High
  • My Unwilling Witch Starts a Fun Park
  • My Unwilling Witch Skates On Thin Ice

Red House Readers say...

Rumblewick is a witch's cat but (and here is the big but) Haggie Aggie, his witch, doesn't actually want to be a witch. Witches are supposed to scare children, but she'd much rather be a ballerina or a pop star on the Otherside (where ordinary people like us live).

But if Haggie Aggie is seen doing things that aren't what a witch should do, then the High Hags will hang Rumblewick upside down over a hot cauldron to make his fur curl, or maybe even drop him in!!! So his number one job is to make sure that she is being a proper witch. Easier said than done…!

I really enjoyed these books. I like the fact that they are written as Rumblewick's diary because I like reading diaries and sometimes I feel nosy! The books are also very funny. I like the way that Rumblewick writes - he's really funny and lively.

Every page has got loads of pictures and funny writing and little doodles that Rumblewick has drawn, and the words are fitted in around the pictures. These make the book really fun to look at. The drawings also relate very well to the words so the book is really easy and fun to read.

I really recommend this book because I think that everyone will like it and have a laugh.

"The Rumblewick Diaries Collection"

3

I bought this set for my six year old daughter. The stories are funny and certainly apealing to little girls, however, the font used throughout the books is very difficult to understand for young readers and some of the vocabulary is quite advanced. I would say they are more suitable for 7+.
