About this book
Red House Readers say...
"I found this story and its adventures funny and interesting with a good plot"The story is about a little girl, called Zoe, who's breakdancing hamster is murdered and thrown away by her horrible stepmother. Zoe's dad, however gets him out of the bin and buries him in the park. After a few nights she mysteriously finds a baby Rat in her room, she takes it to school and names it Armitage. Unfortunately he climbs on to her head during lessons and gets her suspended. After that she meets a horrible man called Bert who nearly pulverises Armitage into a burger, but he manages to escape. Like all David Walliams books, I found this story and its adventures funny and interesting with a good plot and brilliant descriptions that meant I could visualise the characters really well. I would recommend this book to others my age.

"Heart-warming!!!"
This has to be one of the best David Walliams books ever!! It's hilarious and sad at the same time. When reading, you really get to know one of the main characters, Zoe, and find out what it's like to be her and how lucky we are to have all the things we have in life, it really sends a message to us all. Its a heart-touching magical book which should leave you at the end in tears. Well done David Walliams!!!
