About this book

Fast-paced and gripping, Michelle Paver's Gods and Warriors follows the fortunes of Hylas, a 12-year-old goatherd who is being hunted by a band of callous warriors who have kidnapped his sister. Living by his wits and on the run from his hunters, Hylas befriends a dolphin and the runaway daughter of a High Priestess. Well-written and thrilling, Gods and Warriors is action-packed and absorbing. Fans of Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief will enjoy this.

Reader review: Gods and Warriors - Hardback - 9780141339269
Fans of Michelle Paver's novels are in for a real treat with Gods and Warriors.
Fans of Michelle Paver's novels are in for a real treat with Gods and Warriors. Set in the Mediterranean Bronze Age, the protagonists of this story are a boy called Hylas and his sister Issi. Every day is a fight for survival in a hostile world. When Issi goes missing in the mountains, Hylas has to go on alone. There are no adults to help him, but a falcon, a lion cub and a communicative dolphin become his best friends. There is also the mysterious girl Pirra who starts playing a big role in Hylas's fate. This fantasy novel has utterly believable characters and a storyline that draws you in. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Hylas and couldn't wait to find out what happened to Hylas in the end. Definitely a 5 out of 5 from me!

"One of the best books I have ever read"

My book is called "Gods and Warriors" by Michelle Paver. It is spectacular. It is about a boy who went over the sea to find his little sister. He meets a very fiery young girl called Pirria, and Spirit, a small dolphin. It is just as good as the amazing "Wolf Brother" series. If you are a fan of the Wolf Brother series then you will definitely enjoy this book. I give it 4 out of 5 because it is so adventurous, you never know what is going to happen next and it is one of the best books I have ever read.
