My Hamster is a Genius (Paperback)

I did not like this book I ……… LOVED it.

I felt very annoyed that I do not have a hamster like Stinky as he is a very clever and fun pet to have. I learned a lot about hamsters reading this book. They are crepsular - they are active first thing in the morning and at dusk. The book was quite hard to read and also quite easy to read because there were some really long chapters and some really short ones. I liked both. I read the book in my summer holidays at home and at my aunty's house. I would like to read another book by the author - My Hamster is an Astronaut - with my mum because I read some of it in the back of this book and it sounds interesting and a bit spacey. The illustrations were a bit unusual as Ben's family noses were a bit strange but I still liked them

Ben Jinks is a boy who is a bit naughty to his sister because he sticky taped her to the bed! His Mum went bananas and, deciding a pet would make him more responsible, she came back from the pet shop with a hamster. Stinky turns out to be no ordinary hamster because he can talk and understand what humans are saying. Not only that, he's very clever and can help Ben with his homework! The trouble starts when Ben's Dad agrees to a bet with Ben's teacher Beardy McCreedy, who suspects that someone is helping Ben with his homework, and is determined to prove that he is a cheat. I really like this book because it is really funny in parts and I wish I could have a hamster like Stinky who could help me with my homework. I like the pictures which help bring the story to life and would like to read more about Stinky and Ben.
