About this book
Judith Kerr created a best loved children's classic with her story The Tiger Who Came to Tea and has delighted generations of children. The gentle illustrations coupled with the slightly anarchic story have unbeatable child-appeal and make this a perfect book to read aloud. If you haven't invited the tiger into your home yet, do so without delay! Toddlers from 1+ will love the big striped hero and his naughty antics.
Red House Readers say...
"I have read it many times but never tire of it - luckily!"This book is completely wonderful and, in our opinion, one that all children should have on their bookshelves! It tells the story of a little girl (Sophie) who is having afternoon tea with her mother when the doorbell unexpectedly rings. Sophie is delighted to find a big, furry, stripy tiger standing on her doorstep. She and her mother invite him in - as of course anyone would in the same situation! The story is charmingly old fashioned and is one of those books that a child will return to again and again, and probably be reading to their own children in years to come. I have read it many times but never tire of it - luckily! We would rate this book as 5/5 definitely.

"Wonderful Story"
Wonderfully logical yet slightly insane, just like all the best stories, this book is responsible for my toddler's tiger obsession.

""Brilliant classic""
My three-year-old loves this book, we even went to see it in the theatre and she still sings the story. Amazing, must have book!

""Wonderful read""
I remember this book being read to me when I was a child and loved it. I passed my copy of the book onto both my daughters who equally adore it. I read this to my youngest tonight before bed and it still brings back wonderful memories. Quite simply it's a classic.

""A classic""
A classic book that every toddler should have, I've started collecting many what I would consider classic books, such as The Tiger that Came to Tea, Dogger, Meg and Mog, Mog the Forgetful Cat. Stories that I loved as a child and now pass that love to my son. As most things in life there are some cracking modern books but the old ones are the best.
