Reader review: Usborne: Gym Stars Set - 2 Books - Paperback -
"I am going to share this book with all my best friends"

I was really excited to come home from holiday to find two 'Gym Stars' books on the doormat! I do Gym Club every Thursday after school. I love doing handstands and am getting better at my cartwheels. I was very excited to read a story book about gym because I have never seen story books about gym before. This story is about a girl called Tara. She loves gymnastics. She is always practising her moves in the garden but wants to go to a proper gym club. When Tara gets to go to a summer gym club, she is excited but nervous when she is chosen to join the Acrobatic Gymnastics club. She loves it but is worried she is not as good as the others, and the older girl, Sam, is not very nice to her. Tara works with the group to get a routine together to perform at the summer fete. I love having a book about gym because it is one of my hobbies. I like it because Tara has to work really hard to learn the new moves. She can't always do things straight away and that is good because I can't always do things straight away either but Tara proves that if you practise then you can do it in the end. It is really exciting when Tara has to perform at the fete. I would be nervous too but when she finishes and everyone claps, it is really happy. I love this book because it has a great story but has also taught me the names of some new gymnastics moves. I am going to share this book with all my best friends.
