About this book

Another fantastically funny book from David Walliams, Ratburger is a touching read full of zany humour, emotion and action. Sure to appeal to fans of Roald Dahl, especially of the Twits, the hardback tells the story of Zoe, a girl for who things are not looking good. Her stepmother Sheila is so lazy that she gets Zoe to pick her nose for her and the school bully Tina Trotts is also making her life a misery. Now, the evil Burt from Burt's Burgers is determined to get her pet rat - and guess what he wants to do with it? The clue's in the title of the book. After the success of The Boy in the Dress, Mr Stink, Billionaire Boy and Gangsta Granny, this is Walliams' fifth children's novel and could well be his best yet..

Reader review: Ratburger - Hardback - 9780007453528
"I found this story and its adventures funny and interesting with a good plot"

The story is about a little girl, called Zoe, who's breakdancing hamster is murdered and thrown away by her horrible stepmother. Zoe's dad, however gets him out of the bin and buries him in the park. After a few nights she mysteriously finds a baby Rat in her room, she takes it to school and names it Armitage. Unfortunately he climbs on to her head during lessons and gets her suspended. After that she meets a horrible man called Bert who nearly pulverises Armitage into a burger, but he manages to escape. Like all David Walliams books, I found this story and its adventures funny and interesting with a good plot and brilliant descriptions that meant I could visualise the characters really well. I would recommend this book to others my age.

"Heart-warming!!!"

This has to be one of the best David Walliams books ever!! It'€™s hilarious and sad at the same time. When reading, you really get to know one of the main characters, Zoe, and find out what it's like to be her and how lucky we are to have all the things we have in life, it really sends a message to us all. Its a heart-touching magical book which should leave you at the end in tears. Well done David Walliams!!!
