Red House Readers say...
This is a great bookThis is a great book. I would describe it as a traditional book and we like the moral elements and threads in the stories - we love the modern twists and bits of humour too - the humorous aspects are the bits that the kids love! I like books with a collection of stories in them because the kids like to choose the stories they want so you can mix up bed time a little without having a load of books for them to fight over!
Their favourite story is the Reluctant Dragon. The Reluctant Dragon is about a little boy who befriends a lonely dragon. A group of villagers grow afraid of the dragon and a knight arrives to take care of him. The boy comes up with a plan to save the dragon and keep everyone happy and the knight and dragon agree to conduct a pretend fight. This happens with some comedy and everyone leaves happy. My kids like a happy ending, but they also enjoy some of the more violent aspects like the dragon roaring fire and the knight and dragon crashing into each other!
This book is comfortable to read because the kids will enjoy it time after time. There are plenty of lessons to learn and fun to have. It is easy to read with them, with a good balance of text on top of the illustrations. By that I mean the text is clear and does not interfere with the pictures.

"Bedtime Favourite!"
My daughter loves this book and we read her bedtime stories from it every night. She is 16 months but it has been a favourite for some time because of the bright colours and beautiful illustrations. I am sure it will be one we read over and over for years to come.

""Family favourite""
My son loves the book! It has some good lessons for children in it including Asops fables. It has 5 beautifully illustrated stories, and there are not too many words on a page for a young child (my son can get very impatient). A very good read and a must for the bookshelf!
