About this item
Janet and Allan Ahlberg are the award-winning author and illustrator team of Each Peach Pear Plum. This board book version of the best-loved picture book will charm its young readers with a rhyming text and lots of familiar fairy-tale faces. On each beautifully-illustrated page are characters such as Mother Hubbard, the Three Bears and Tom Thumb and there's tons of fun in store as readers have to find where each one is hiding. This would make a lovely gift for toddlers aged 1+.
Red House Readers say...
We would give this 5/5 every time.We love this book - it is one we already have in our collection and I have enjoyed reading over and over numerous times before, but it's nice to have a board book copy of it too!
The story contains lots of favourite nursery rhyme and storybook characters, so it feels familiar immediately. The "I spy" idea is great and really popular with children. It engages their interest in the book straight away.
The illustrations are delightful, lots of detail allowing the child to spend plenty of time finding the character. The illustrations and style of 'Each Peach Pear Plum' are very characteristic of other Ahlberg books such as 'Peepo' another classic in our opinion. The text is interesting and has a lovely gentle rhythm to it.
This book was first published in 1978 and it's easy to see why it is still so popular. It's definitely a book that every child should have on their bookshelf. We would give this 5/5 every time.

"Fab!"
Lovely book with lots of pages and so much to look at on each page, really liked the I Spy game on each page and more importantly my little one enjoyed.

""Very entertaining""
I didn't have this book as a child but as it was a Red House recommended title I gave it a go and haven't been disappointed! My daughter (age one and a half) loves it and can point out some of the characters and animals, and enjoys the rhyme so much that she's started saying some of the words. I think it'll last a long time too, as it's not too babyish and spotting the characters in the illustrations and understanding who they are will be better for an older child.

"This is one of the best children's books ever"
This wonderful story is based around a multitude of nursery rhymes and stories that appeal to children of all ages. It is a firm favourite with Ollie (age 4) and we have read it so many times that we pretty much know the whole thing off by heart. Beautifully illustrated it should take pride of place in every child's bedroom.

"A must-have for all babies and toddlers"
I have read this to my son from when he was 10 months old and it's still one of his favourites. He loves spotting the characters and animals. It's also easy to remember so great for reciting to entertain during nappy changes!

I first read this to my daughter when she was a few months old, it is now a firm family favourite, so much so that we have just bought a copy for my young niece!

"outstanding book"
This book is certainly not just for babies. It is an outstanding book because of it's links between text and illustrations - a super book for talking about books.
