Hi I'm really stuck! I am obsessed with the Twilight saga, and I need a book that is like those books. Thanks.
Sasha Rimington-hicks.
Dear Sasha,
The Twilight books really are great, so I imagine that it is really difficult to find books that you like just as much. I do have some suggestions that you might like to try. As Twilight has lots of romance in it, I thought you might like to try Sophie McKenzie's Blood Ties - not only does it have romance, it's a great thriller too. Sophie's books have even won awards because they are so popular.
You could also try Sarah Dessen's She's a fantastic writer of teenage fiction who deals with romance and issues very, very well.
But if you want more vampire stories, then why not grab a copy of Cynthia Leitich Smith's Tantalize. We aren't currently selling this book but you may want to check it out. Not only does it have vampires and romance, it has werewolves too..
I hope that you find something that you enjoy.!
My friend is looking for a book that will help her 3 year old cope with the fact that Daddy has a new family, and that it is ok to live with mummy. Sadly she is of an age where her friends have mum and dad at home....any ideas? thanks
Fiona Millard.
Dear Fiona,
Well this really is a very tricky one, and books are great at helping little ones understand and cope with issues. Unfortunately I can't find a book that deals directly with the issues that you are seeking. However I do have some suggestions of books that will help reinforce a mother's love, and show that mummy's will always love their children. These will help the child to understand that although her father is absent, her mother will always be there. Why not suggest to your friend that she tries 'Mummy Do You Love Me' by Jeanne Willis and 'No Matter What' by Debbi Gliori? These are both picture books reinforcing a wonderful message.
I hope this helps.
